Traveled from Northeast to the South

My husband and I have lived in the northeast all our lives and a turn of events has put us unexpectedly elsewhere.  Due to an employment opportunity for him, sadly we decided to move out of the northeast...the place we called home all our lives.  Sad it was at first, but now we are enjoying where we live.  This is now home and it is beginning to feel more permanent.  Leaving family and friends behind was extremely difficult, but that is what is so cool about Facebook, Google, cell phones, Facetime, etc... you can keep in touch anytime!!  I love all this technology because I feel close to those I have left.  Life is a bit different where we are now, but it was so worth walking through the opened door.  Like Walt Disney quoted "We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."  That is exactly what my husband and I did...stepped out into the open door and wen...

Making a choice to run or embrace

My experiences as a mom of a special needs child have strengthened me and made me see life in a new light.  At my first ultrasound with our daughter, who is now 14 years old, it revealed the beginning of a new and difficult journey for me and my husband, as well as our then 2-year-old son. Our daughter was diagnosed with a rare chromosome disorder that left her unable to speak, walk and numerous surgeries.  At the revealing of her diagnosis, I had a choice to either embrace this and run to God for help, or to drown in depression and sorrow.  My strong faith in the Lord caused me to rush into his loving arms and brought me to my knees daily crying out for his help and comfort.  Our daughter had over 25 surgeries in her 14 years of life, but we have experienced first hand Jesus' miracles upon her life over and over again.  She may not walk or talk yet, but she is a child full of so much joy and determination.  She does things the doctors said she would never ...

Who inspires you? I have a lot of friends but only a couple friends who inspire me and I hope I inspire them.  Those friends and I have a strong relationship with Jesus that inspires us to grow as individuals and strengthens our faith.  I think it is important to have really good friends who you trust wholeheartedly and can speak truth to each other without building walls to divide the bonds.  However, I have learned that it does take work in friendships.  Now Jesus is the best friend you will ever have.  You vent to him, cry uncontrollably before him, laugh with him, and he will never forsake you. He will never leave you.  He puts people in your life either for a season or for life who walk with you in your journeys.  I have had some really good friends during different journeys I have gone through.  I may not see them or talk much now, but I know they were there for me and I am forever grateful.  Then there are those friends who you kno...

Living for the moment on a Spring Day

What do you do on a perfect Spring day?   How do you utilize every moment? I am learning to use every moment to the fullest.  Today, I used my time to the fullest...weeding the crazy weeds that took over my flower bed LOL.  Hey, you have to take care of what God blesses you with.  Therefore, I must care for this home God blessed us with. Next weekend, me and my family will be starting a special detox for some issues I leave private at this time.  Bone broth only for one day and lots of water.  Then for 2-3 days after, we are only going to be eating steamed veggies and green smoothies.  This is vital for our health.  I have a fantastic professional nutritionist that is providing detailed guidance.  Then after the 2nd phase, we will eat so much healthier and hopefully sugar will not be part of the diet...or at least minimally.  I'm excited about this, but my son is not LOL.  He does not want to give up on sugar, but I expla...

Hello

I decided it was time to write a blog of life as if there are no other blogs out there about life LOL.  What’s one more anyway.  I love my life and it has been an up and down roller coaster ride, but my strong faith in the Lord has brought me to this place today that I can hopefully encourage others.  I am a mom of 2 lovely children, one of whom is severely handicapped.  My husband and I have been married for about 25 years.  I love working out and I'm into eating healthy. I am on week 3 of doing the Beachbody's 80 Day Obsession. One of my favorite workouts. Keep you posted on that. Exercise is one of the important habits I have...a good habit!!  If you don't work out, you should give it a try.  My body is grateful..so is my heart and whole body.
